1.  Attempt any FOUR of the following :-       (4*5) = 20
      a. Differentiate between Block Cipher and Stream Cipher. What is cryptoanalysis ?
      b. Give one line description for the following security services:
              - Confidentiality
              - Non-repudiation
              - Integrity
              - Authentication
              - Access Control
     c. What are the drawbacks of mono-alphabetic substitution cipher? Briefly describe how does a poly-alphabetic substitution cipher improve the strength of encryption?
     d. Describe briefly client side e-commerce security threats.
     e. Briefly outline different bio-metrics systems.


2.  Attempt any Two of the following:-          (2*10) = 20
     a. Explain triple DES encryption and Decryption? Explain the terms meet-in-the middle attack.
     b. Explain Galois Field.
         Using arithmetic in fine field GF(2^8), given irreducible polynomial m(x) = x^8 + x^4 + x^3 + x + 1 ,two other polynomials f(x) = x^6 + x^4 + x^2 + x + 1 and g(x) = x^7 +x + 1, find the following:-
             -  f(x) + g(x)
             -  (f(x) * g(x)) mod m(x)
     c. Explain digital signature. Perform encryption and decryption using RSA algorithm for p=3:q=11:e=7:M=5.

3.  Attempt any TWO of the following:-        (2*10) = 20
     a. Describe Kerberos system of granting access to a server for an user. What do you understand by Kerberos realms.
     b. Differentiate between trusted and secure systems. Describe design principles of a trusted OS.
     c. Describe different technologies and tools for Securing Information systems.
