Series & Parallel Connection - Project Domestic House

This Project (Domestic house) consist of Series and Parallel connection, before starting about the project let's gather some knowledge about series and parallel circuits.

Series circuits - Series circuits are also known as current-coupled or daisy chain coupled. In a series circuit, current goes through each and every component in the circuit. therefore, every component in a series connection have the same current. There is only one path in a series circuit in which the current can flow.

Current

I = I1 = I2 = I3 = .....In

Current is same for all element in the series circuit.

Resistors

Rtotal = R1 + R2 + R3 + ......+ Rn

The total resistance in series is equal to the sum of individual resistances.

Parallel circuits - In Parallel circuits, potential difference (voltage) across their ends are same but the total current is the sum of the currents through the individual components, in accordance with Kirchhoff's current law.

Current

Itotal = V(1/R1 + 1/R2 + .....+ 1/Rn)

The current in each individual resistor is found by Ohm's law.

Resistors

1/Rtotal = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + .......+ 1/Rn

To find the total resistance of all components, add the reciprocals of the resistances Ri of each component and take the reciprocal of the sum.

Voltage

V = V1 = V2 = ........ = Vn

Voltage is same for all elements.

PROJECT - Domestic House

1. Garden Chart :
The garden consist of six red LED lights connected in series as shown below -

Fig 1: Garden Light Chart

Here all six lights are connected in series shown via resistances in figure therefore,
Rtotal = R1 + R2 + R3 + R4 + R5 + R6

2. Room one & Room two lamp light :
Room one & Room two consist of single led lamp connected simply through battery as shown below -

Fig 2: Room lamp light chart

3. Room one & Room two Led Tube light :
Led tube consist of 16 led bulbs connected in group of series and parallel combination shown below -

Fig 3: Room Led tube light chart

4. Motors :
Their are total three motors used in this project in which
  • First motor (R1) is for room one
  • Second motor (R2) is for room two
  • Third motor (R3) is for windmill

5. The Complete Circuit Diagram for Domestic House :
This is the complete circuit diagram for the domestic house which shows how all the components are connected in series and parallel connection.
